buildings.

recently i've been painting alot of buildings in the back.
i some how like the comp better than the painting.
my good friend david jein told me to start doing my comps on better paper and using it as a piece instead of throwing it away. since then i've been spending alittle more time on my comps.
the last one is not finished, but im just excited about it cause i learn how to use layers. i use to paint everything in one layer and wondered why people used 40+ layers. now i know, thanks eric.

this piece been sitting around unfinished for about a year now. after erasing the lady's face about 5 times i decided to use reference. man that made my life so much easier. now i can finally call this DONE!

here's my working zone, my fortress of solitude. i know it's kinda messy. i currently have my heroe gary meyer's painting on my destop, a stay wet palette for my gouache, and a set of 99 cent brush from a aaron's brothers.

i was always fimilar with this girls work..

i showed with this guy in chicago, and dug his work ever since. but recently i was
able to check out his work in person. AMAZING! and such a nice guy too.

i will be having 2 illustrations in the next american illustration annual.
im exited cause this is the first time im not submitting on the student catagory.
well here are the two pieces.

i've been doing one small drawing every morning before i start my day. here's how it looks 1 week in.

my friend sent me a link to a blog last week. i couldn't figure out why....i saw a picture of my work and assumed someone just featured me up on their blog. i saw my friend yesterday and he said "did you see that mastercopy" well i don't know who did it, who ever you are........ you fooled me.

the best part of work is that i get to go to figure drawing workshops on my break! i really forget how fun it is sometimes.

skip the lunch

i needed a quick fix durring my lunch break.

i know it doesn't look anything close to the comp, but plans changed. what was suppose to be 8 people on the wall ended up just being me. this is the biggest mural i've ever done. this is only half of the wall and shows no sign of being done any time soon.

im finally getting more freedom and less art directing.

STREET CRED

it really sucks when i roll with the homie rek2. everywhere we go. OMG your rek, can you do something in my book. long ago people asked me too, feels like my name is forgotten. so my new years resolution was to paint once a month.

COMPS

Me and my friends are doing a mural for chevron gas station. This is pretty exicting cause im playing art director. This is way harder than it sounds, everything depends on you. This is one of the comps that i came up for the background. We should be finished by the end of this week.

Happy Holidays

i hope everyone had a great christmas. it's kinda been a hem tradition to feed the homeless on christmas. in the past we just buy a box of donut and walk the streets. weird but many homeless refuse to eat donut. many just reply "that stuff will kill ya." this christmas my sister and i made sandwiches. we made 4 dozen and the response was great. only 4 people refused. one guy said "MAN, SUBWAY MAKES BETTER SANDWICH THAN THAT, you must be using rat meat." i dont know these look good to me



i never really thought of my drawings as finals. no matter how much i try it always looks like comps to me. but recently i just been combining all my comps in hopes to create a final piece.

LANDSCAPES

I recently been thinking about landscape painting. its been 3 months since i graduated and every night ive been sleeping at 6 am doing paintings. i wake up around 2 pm which leaves me a few hours to do something before the sun goes down. today for the first time i woke up at 11 am. first thing that came on my mind was landscape painting. jump on my bike headed to a spot. 20 minutes in and i couldn't feel my hand and face. it was sooooooooo cold today, i couldn't finish. sucks it had to be so cold on the day i woke up early! here's some of my more recent landscape. i'll finish the painting i started tomorrow.





here's a jacket that my friend made me. i really love this jacket, i wear it all the time but im afriad to wash it. im scared that the paint will just come off it i do so. it smell like hell, but i dont care. i also have a shirt that im scared to wash. that one really stinks like hell. the smell has gotten so bad i think i have to just frame it. original gear are meant for rocking not hanging. my sister disagree once she gets close to me.

i found my fortress of solitude. it takes me a while to get there on my bike, but it's worth it. i go there almost every other day to draw and relax. but anyways i picked up my sketchbook and started to draw on it once again. here are some old stuff in the book. i will post some new ones soon.
